Terms of Use
Last updated October 30, 2026
Slow Down Buddy (“the app”, at slowdownbuddy.com) is a free tool for practicing music. By using it, you agree to these terms.
Use it for practice, and respect copyright
- Only open, record or use audio that you have the right to use: your own recordings, music you own, music licensed for this use, or material in the public domain.
- Recordings you make with the app are for your own personal practice and study. Don't use the app to copy, distribute, sell or publicly share music you don't have the rights to.
- When you record from a website, you are responsible for following that website's terms. Some services don't allow recording their content.
- Being able to record something doesn't mean you're allowed to. Whether a recording is permitted depends on the rights holders, the website's terms and the law where you live. Slow Down Buddy doesn't give you permission to record anything, and no website or music service has authorized recording through it.
- The app doesn't get around copy protection and isn't meant for downloading or ripping music.
- Backup files contain your audio. Keep them for yourself, and don't share backups that contain music you don't have the rights to share.
Your files stay with you
Audio you open or record is processed and stored in your own browser on your own device. It isn't uploaded to us. You're responsible for keeping backups of anything you want to keep; browsers can clear stored site data. See the Privacy page for details.
No warranty
The app is provided free, “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be error-free, always available, or that stored songs, loops or markers will never be lost. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss or damage from using the app.
Other names
Product and service names mentioned on this site (for example YouTube, Spotify, Bandcamp, Transcribe!, Capo, Amazing Slow Downer, Anytune, Moises) are trademarks of their owners. Slow Down Buddy isn't affiliated with or endorsed by them.
Open-source parts
The app includes open-source software used under its licenses; see the open-source licenses page and the full third-party notices.
Changes
We may update the app and these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.
